matching color of leather to color on fabric?
Bought some new dining room chairs. The are padded with leather seats and backs. 4 different colors. I was thinking it would be cool to have valences in the dining room with the same 4 colors from the chairs. How would I go about finding a fabric color to match the leather color?
It may be better to go with one or two colors from your leather chairs and bring the other colors in with accessories. (table cloths, napkins, glassware, candle holders, vases, etc)
Here are window valance ideas I've used:
Add trims. They can be found can be found with multiple colors and fringe or beaded trim is very easy to apply with fabric glue.
Buy inexpensive or sale drapery hardware or pegs and then paint it one of your four colors.
Hang your valances from drapery pegs and add a fringe tassel in your color scheme to several pegs for decoration.
If you're going with box pleat valances, you can use a print or stripe fabric and alternate a solid color in the folds.
Go with a solid background color that also uses embroidery in your four colors.
It's hard to see fabric colors online since every monitor renders them differently, so I order samples first, or go in person to the fabric store.
